I think it looks better than the S and the 7 series... Clean solid, handsom design. Not purdy or anything though.

much better than the current one.. lol@lexus, they even put their press car in beige..
anyway, i would take the new S class over it still but this is a tight car none the less

If the 7 didn't have I drive then it would be more desirable, but like kepone, i'd take the S over it.

Y'know, that car is actually pretty tight.

Back reminds me of a 5 series. This car doesn't do anything for me. Audi A8 would be my choice....

Nothing wrong with the looks. Bland like everything else in its class. When you're getting a big luxo I guess all that's really left is to voice your style. I wouldn't want to be seen as a Lexus person. The Audi A8 best captures my taste. Subtle elegance. I like the Phaeton too.

The A8 is better but that lexus just took second place. =)

I'd get the S over this.
Love the dash, though.

A8? You guys must love panel gap and unreliable cars, lol.

The few encounters I had with the A8 showed actually brilliant finish. Never heard about unreliability issues either...
looks like the 07 S class to me.

What A8 reliability problems? The few of A8's I have been in have been pretty nice. Granted two of them were 5-7 years old.

I guess they don't have the A4 fit and finish issues. I'd still imagine they're ridiculously expensive to maintain, but then again what german luxury car isn't?

I've been inside an A4, and they aren't built that well. It is good to hear that their flagship doesn't suffer the same way, but I'm still skeptical of the brand.

thats bs mike. if anything a4's have awesome fit and finish
reliability sucks, but fit and finish might be best in class.

Alright, I've been called out... it was a Passat I tried out, not an A4.

even the passat puts most non-japanese cars in it's class to shame.
A8 certainly over this....and maybe even the Mazerati.

lol, Audi/VW is crappy compared to BMW in terms of reliability and quality...not to mention they have no idea how to engineer a suspension. However, in the full-sized luxury class what is there really to look at besides looks and interior? You're not exactly taking these cars to the track. For me, the S8/A8 is the best looking car in class by far. Which is pretty much all I would need to make my choice.

That's true... and my dad's friend's 740i didn't really impress me that much in terms of handling. The steering feel was nice and the suspension was well-damped, but it's still a big heavy car.
I'd want my luxo-boat to be able to shovel it, but that's really about it.

LOL, when you take Japanese cars out of the equation for mid-sized sorta-luxury sedans... you end up with the Pontiac Grand Prix, the Ford 500, the Hyundai XG350, the Kia Magentis and the Dodge Intrepid. What a classy well-built bunch.

Looks pretty interesting... "handsome" too, most likely be bulletproof. But no way am i going to take this over the new S class esp the S65.

I like the engine..but...i just dont like sedan styling of this lexus, or the audis at all. I like the bodystyling of some of the bmws and mercedes.
