They unveil 4 new cars at Tokyo in a month, looks like NSX and RL included. Then we'll know.

I can't see why they don't go with a V8. For the money spent, it should've had a V8 to begin with.

Well, Honda is right in the sense that you don't need a V8 for the power that say Lexus is currently doing with their V8s. I'm sure Honda could make a large displacement 6 with the ability to out muscle its rivals.

To me it seems that Honda is comfortable with the way Acura is positioned and not trying to appeal to same market Japanese rival Lexus is. I get the same feeling with Infiniti too. I suppose that is cool and all, but when I look at the success that BMW is having, charging unthinkable premiums and still selling cars like mad. It makes me scratch my head…. Especially with the profit per car they make.

Long-term thinking versus short-term thinking. A V8 may happen.. sometime.. but not so they can be Lexus-too. Honda works differently.

Since as long as I can recall, Acura has offered nothing but niche products, minus the MDX, so of course they work driffently.

Never was a fan of Acura (I love the Integra R and NSX, but I'd rather call them Honda). Their future seems bleak with all the estabilshed cars market as well as the new market entries.

I suppose time will tell...

Their future is brighter then ever. The TSX and TL are the new face of Acura. They may not be moving to RWD-V8 but all signs point to AWD-IMA-6. However we won't know until the end of the month.

I don't see it as so bright...

TSX can enjoy it now, but soon enough the 1 series will be there. The Mini is already a hot alternative to the RSX.
The TL is neat and great for the dollar, but you've got new powerplants from Audi on the way, an new IS as well as the already very powerful G35 & CTS.

I'm not exactly sure what to expect from the RL... So I'll hold any judgement on its future. I just belive it will be AWD which is a plus over FWD in such a market. However that will not promise it success.

I dont know anyone that has both an RSX and a mini on their wishlists.

Neither do I... I'd surley take a Mini first.

lol im sure they're really nice, i'd just much much rather have an RSX - It's still a very capable car, and doesn't look like a mini
