Hello, I've been wanting to be an ice cream man, yah I know it's silly but I think it could work. Has anyone seen an xB ice cream truck conversion? Been googleing for a while trying to find one.

What I was thinking was taking out the passenger seat and rear seats. That will give me room to get up and walk on my knees to the back. In the back would be a large coldplate freezer for novelty bomb pops, ice cream sandwhiches, sponge bob treats, etc, as well as cans of pop, and maybe hard ice cream. Then maybe a small sink to wash hands. Probably a rack with other stuff like chips and snack cakes. I'm not so sure about a soft serve machine, seems like a lot of extra concerns.

The outside would be mostly stock. A cute fold out stop sign, a menu over the right rear door, and something on top that lets people know I'm the ice cream man, maybe a large plastic bomb pop or something. Perhaps a decal on the rear window. I would serve out the rear passenger side window. Maybe serve out the rear window, or open the whole thing and have a counter built into the back. I'd try to catch people coming out of large events like baseball games, makes more sense than driving around all day.

Any comments or further ideas?

well i posted on a message board for "ice cream men/women"... people actually in the biz... www.allscream.com

they tore me up pretty bad, hehe. they don't think it's a good idea. yet they drive around and crappy old rusty exhausty huge bad on gas trucks. their excuse is that ice cream trucks should look a certain way, like they did growing up, etc. some said it won't pass inspection standards, i guess for business use? i didn't even know about that stuff... some said the parents would call the police... why?! after mod the mods described above, it'll look like an ice cream truck, just very small, good on gas, clean, and friendly looking!

i still think it's a decent idea though :P

Maybe their real problem was the new cool ice cream truck would take away business from their old crappy ice cream trucks. And that's why they were so against it.

The Xb is too small, I would go with the Honda Element much more pratical and it would be funny, I would buy from you it would be lol If I saw a element Ice cream truck coming down the road.

i too think the xb would be too small, but if you're set on it that's your thing. you couldn't fit that much in it. you'd think they'd want to swap to something newer and more efficient since they drive around all day. and they don't even work for the gov.
