I just recently bought a 2006 chevy cobalt ss but I did not purchase the supercharged one. it was for 2000$ more and I didn't think 25 -30 more horse power was worth it. I was considering waiting until a turbo kit came out for it but I'm not sure how long it will be before one is produced? what are my other options?

You could do as you said and wait for a turbo kit or an aftermarket supercharger kit are produced, OR you could have a custom turbo kit fabricated. The only tricky thing will be figuring out tuning and adding fuel....it will end up costing you a lot of money though to fabricate a kit. You should probably just wait, and then once they come out with something snatch it up. In the mean time, do the other essential bolt ons (catback exhaust, highflow/cat delete, cold air intake, etc etc)

Where can I go to get a catback exhaust and cold air intake at a decent price. I've been looking around trying to find a price I am comfortable with?

A turbo kit is gonna cost way more then $2000 anyway, so if being cost effective was your goal, thats not gonna happen.
GM actually has a PDF catalog online which takes you through the different "Stage" builds of the Ecotec engines, all the way up to the 1000+ HP race engine.
Ill see if my friend still has the link and Ill post it later.

agree with everything said here. give it some time, and it will pay off. trust me. there will be pleeeenntty of high power kits coming out for that puppy. give it some time, the car just came out, so alot of R and D has to be done.
like bowtieman said, go with your proven bolt ons that will add power for later FI projects. get your CAI, headers, cat back, weight reductions, etc done now.
also like captain morgan said, there is a GM authorized manual that will give you guidance on how to hit some major power with that little ectoec.
good luck!
