Christ Cadillac styling is far reaching. (Galant) So many cars are influenced by them.

haha The Galant got its bumper stolen straight from the Altima.. and the car was forseeably being influenced by the Mitsubishi concepts...
The smooth front of the VIII doesn't really go with the whole boxy body though..

The headlights and general front end are Cadillac influenced, like so many cars.

Mostly it can be seen from the Mitsubishi concepts.

also just to make a point the WRX looks ugly as well but well, its still a beast on a rally or road course. Who here agrees besides me that its the performance of the car that matters the most?

Everything from Renaults, Vauxhalls to some Japanese cars have been influenced by that style of headlight that we've seen on the Cadillac concepts and latest production models. Its like every time I see a new model it has those same skewed square headlights. I'm sure I can't be the only one who's noticed this. The angular lines have become popular too.
And yes I dislike those headlights.

And yes I dislike those headlights. the new 'edge' styling isn't only from cadillac, a handful of manufacturers have started doing that in the past few years. I think ford pretty much set it off with the Focus.

The new Mercury Cougar was the first car I'd ever seen like that.

Haha, true, and now they're scraping it for '04 becuase of lack of sales. It was like the first car to get the new edge design like in early '99 and still most of the cars aren't even as radical yet, just the concepts.
That's what happens when you jump too far ahead in the book and the design trend takes a new turn :) A failure.

I think the GT90 might have been first with the new edge, but it wasn't the new edge I was talking about. Its the headlights and this specific look that came with the Imaj that has been picked up by many stylists.

So far I think the Focus is the only car with that style that doesn't look like total ass.

I hate the double grille on the Lancer. It looks like a friggin' Pontiac! The body kit isn't great either, and the spoiler is almost too small. To me, it looks like they've taken away all the edginess of the 7. It's by no means ugly (the Galant is a different story), but I would still rather have a 7.
