If I wanted to see people working on cars for ninety-percent of the day I'd go to my mechanic's garage. I want some more racing with some decent shots. Do they have cockpit cameras like F1? That's the only view I find truly exciting. From the normal up high cameras it looks like they're on a pace lap.

As far as I know they don't have onboard cameras at all....

I've seen alot of the MGs cockpit cam. It's mounted way to low though so the only thing you see is the 2 inch glass and blue sky. :(

In all honesty though, its not that much fun to watch LeMans.

Agreed.

I was watching Cart, so much more entertaining, so much better camera work, capture the speed and sound better. Le Mans is organized by ****ing pure retards.

I dunno if I'd go that far. I think that any race that lasts as long as 24 hours on a track that large is going to get dull.

What I've seen of cart is good. Better than F1. F3000, Formula Fords and other lesser open wheel sports are more exciting than F1.

I think it's more entertaining because the camera work is better, that's why I said LM organizers are idiots. They have no talent or idea what they're doing, they've got like three cameras out on a gigantic course and then there's little or no cockpit action, which is the best action of all. You NEED cameras with good microphones low on the course to better capture speed and sound. Sorry, but watching them from a zoom camera with no sound makes them seem like they're driving miss daisy. ****, I think the most exciting part is when cars fire up their engines and peel out of pit lane. Speaking of pit lane, what's their obsession with it anyhow? All they do is show crews changing tires and diffusers, very boring.

I can't get any coverage but I know what you mean. I'm sure it used to be better. I remember watching it in the 80s and it was cool.

Even the people AT the track don't watch the race for more than 3 hours at a time....they got so many other things to do there that race is only part of it.

They are like this every year though, so not much surprise there. SPEED get their camera feed from their international signal from ACO, so they have no control over their camera work....(Their ALMS coverage though, you get tons of on-board and stuff).

SCCA is probably some of the most exciting racing you can watch...their Le Mans camera work in deplorable

Try it in the cockpit! I videotaped myself and was disappointed with how little it captured the speed, but hey. SCCA is great, but sometimes you only get a couple good corners to watch.

From what I hear they are trying to create a system where you can watch what you want in a race and choose which camera to watch.

Oh and the camera on board the MG at Le Mans this year is too low in the cockpit. All I can see is clouds and blue sky with the odd tree.

300zx they already have that in UK.

and speaking of camera work. CART got one of the best camera shot ever. i remeber seeing one of those inside helmat cam. feel like we are really in the driver seat unlike the normal above the cockpit camera. imagine if they took that concept to rallying, F1, nascar or anykind of racing in the world:eek: bloody amazing i tell you.......

I especially enjoy that shot in F1 of the side of MS's head and what's going past him. I noticed that in Montreal, it was quite a sight.
