Story so far....


After 3 rounds and lots of thrills and excitements, it will the the Team Esso Ultraflo Supra at the forefront when the Autobacs JGTC moves to Sepang for their next round. Their advantage is slim however.

With still 5 more round to go including the Sepang, Team Esso have 37 points merely 3 points ahead of 2place of Team Mugen Honda in the GT500 series. Mean while the last year overall winner Team Cerumo Supra is in 3rd standings and ready to claim the top spot.

Unlike F1, each round offers a maximum 22 points. 20 points for the race winners, one point each for top 3 qualifiers and another one point for each top 3 cars making fastest lap.

The GT300 class is currently led by Team Unisia JECS Silvia who bounced back from a disappointing round 2 in Fuji to win in the round 3 contest and take maximum 22 points. With 33 points secured in the bag, they are looking to extend their lead in Sepang.

Just came back for the race (yesterday actually) not the best day in my life actually. I brought my Sony MiniDV but failed to get neither video nor that many pictures since I forgot to check the battery life when I left home. I have to speed to the KL airport just to buy some disposable cameras since it was not sold on the track. So just before the pit walkabout session I manage to sprint to the airport and return back. In the end of the pit walkabout my battery went completely flat and my cameras ran out of exposures…. it was an absolute pants!!! That’s why I didn’t manage to get any pics of the cars in action. Plus a disposable camera will not take a good pic of a moving mass at speed exceeding 260km/h. But all is not loss. I get a lot of pics of asian babes for LK (sorry bud, they wont take their top off, I’ve asked ‘em too but they wont….)

How fast the JGTC cars in comparison with the F1 cars? They manage to complete 54laps in just above 2hours. While the F1 cars complete 56 laps in 1hour 30 minutes. The best lap of GT500 cars? 2'01.574 done by the Mobil1 NSX with a 40kg weight penalty. F1 cars did it in 1’37.00 plus minus 2sec.


Best sounding car in that race? Definitely the McLaren with beautiful V12 engine note. By far the best engine sound of the race. Followed by the GTR. The NSX sounded like the McLaren V12 engine note slowed down in half. The M3GT also sounded good almost like a deep growling V8, I wish my car sounded like that.
The noisiest car in the race? Surprisingly the GT500 cars didn’t sounded that loud, the GT300 cars are the loudest and almost make my ear bleed. The noisiest? A tie between the RX7s and the Porsches. I never know Porsches sounded that loud!!! I mean all Porsches that I watch in other races always got a deep earthshaking bass, but in JGTC it sounded like a shrieking bitch! No bass, just ear piercing noise. The rex in the other hand sounded like it got a badass V8. While the viper sounded like a ****ed up 4 banger and by far the quietest car in the race. i didn’t even notice it went past me and I’m sitting in the grandstand which got 900m straight!!!

I was hoping for a skyline triumph, but the Honda (they SUCKs!!!) and Toyota dominated the whole race. And one of the funny moments was one of the Jap hardcore fans whipped out a speakerphone (or megaphone) and started shouting Honda Sucks and Toyota Power at the end of the GT300 prize giving ceremony. It was quite funny coz he was screaming directly below where the Honda Racing fans were sitting. And one of the fruitcakes on the upper tier actually opens a bottle mineral water and pours directly on his head while he was shouting on the megaphone. And some cursing session (I think coz I don’t understand Japanese, but those guys sounds mad) ensues in Japanese between the fans of the 2 manufacturers. It’ll be fun if suddenly fans of Nissan join in but alas they are nowhere to be seen. But it was resolved (or dies out) when the GT500 prize giving ceremony starts.

The Nomad Diablo by far the most embarrassing when it's engine blew up (or so i think) just after 4 laps... I guess malaysian heat proves too much even for the devil himself.... but I’m surprised of how low the rear of the Diablo’s. It’s like the engine is not there. I’ve seen a lot of Diablo’s but I have never seen a diablo ass that low...

The Cusco Imprezza didn’t even look like and sounded like an Imprezza. In fact it looks like a TVR and sounded like a TVR too… but that car was badass… in terms of looks not performance.

Not many ppl watch the race due to the world cup. Last year it was 48k plus but this year I estimated like a 20k plus crowd. And also there was also the F1 factor.

one of the more interesting car in the race is the Mosler MT900R. the best sounding V8 in the race definitely. i didnt know very much of these mosler except it got a 6L V8 and it's in GT300 class. i was wondering if it got a 6L V8 why is it in the GT300? should it be in GT500? same goes for the viper. it was based on the GTS-R. but the GTS-R got more than 450 horses if i'm not very much mistaken...

anybody got any pics of the Mosler MT900?

About the sound, Vipers are quite subdued sounding in person. I noticed that during a Motorola Cup race here and also in the ALMS race. In tha motorola race too, the loudest car is the Corvette with the V8, but not far away are those Civic Si in the lower class.....Panoz's V8 in ALMS is a sound to die for.......

That Diablo has that long tail body work that makes it look like something other than a Diablo...really odd looking....

This car has a Vette engine, 5.7 liter, and a Porsche Syncro gearbox.

no wonder it sounded great... why ppl want to buy a viper when they can have vette that soundes better for half the price? muscle maybe...

and there another weird car that i have never heard and saw before.... the Vemac RD320R. I say the car look like an old LeMans Group C racer. nice car but has a bit muted engine note just like the viper.

He is still at SC.net.....Mosler recently completed a MT 900 Photon, which has the engine and so on from MT900R, with top speed pushing 200mph, and all the feature of the MT900 Road car....

well isnt this sucks..... instead of saving the photo on the memory stick, my MiniDV saved it on the tape complete with the sound.... this shits big time...

anyway i just look at the photo that I took with my disposable camera, i must say the image didnt look that all great. since it's a focus free camera the image looked like it was captured from far away. i'm scanning it now. gimme 3 hours. as i said i've warned you, i'm not the best photo grapher so some of the image looks like its was out of focus and blurry coz my hand is shaking.

i'll definitely be there next year together with a more superior pass/ticket, that is the Perdana Suite and Starting Grid access. Woohooo......

btw the jap bitches are one of the lovliest i've seen so far. i dont understand why when i went to japan 3 years ago, all i see way crap looking girls:confused:

the cheapest team in JGTC. no umbrella girls in fact they dont even have a grid girl, they dont tune their cars coz of lack of equiepment. they show their car, coz they are the only one not busy doing last minute adjustement. the earliest retiring Supra at 33 laps before the end....

oh yeah.... this is not the JGTC car but it's the best looking trueno I HAVE EVER SEEN............

oh yeah if you look at the 2nd place supra you'll notice there's a red supra beside it. that was the 3rd place car. both are Tom's (Toyota Motorsport) Supra only wuth 2 diff livery and sponsor...

contarary to the popular belief.... the skyline didnt came with their new spanking engine but the proven RB26. maybe the heat factor and they dont want to risk a blown engine like the Daiblo did....

That's the first time I've seen the new JGTC NSX, with the updated headlights.....looks better than the road going ones....

All NSX came with a air scoop that looks like an F1 car. take a look at the Mobil1 NSX and you'll notice it just above the roof of the car. it may look small in the pics but trust me they're huge...... that Mobil1 NSX particularly got one entirely painted in chrome...
