Both McRae and Makkinen are out of running, the only 2 title contender left is Burns and Sainz. If Both should retire, McRae will win the Championship, if Burns get more than 2 points, Championship is his. If Burns also retires and Sainz won the Rally, he will be the world champion.....

after Mcrea set the fastest time in the SS, i tought he would have won the rally.... welll you never know what gonna happend next, thats rallying...

hmmmm..... Sainz got a 40sec penalty, so it'll be very hard for him to win. unless Bruns do something stupid he should be able to snatch a final win for his team before switching to the rival.
very ironic since Subaru got a high probability to win while the mitsus are definite loser this season...

If Burns finish above 5th place(2 points), he'll get the championship, if not, McRae will still win. Marcus Gronholm currently leads by a considerable margin in his Peugeot.

Gronholm won the Rally, Burns finished 3rd(4 points), and won the Championship. Richard Burns is the 2001 WRC Champion and the 2nd ever British WRC Champion.
