Yesterday night i convinced my friend to let me drive his almost brand new WRX... It was amazingly disappointing. It is definatley fast as hell, but the problem is that you just dont feel it. I know that my car is slower, but it feels faster and thats half the fun. I took it on the highway and the pick up was there when the turbo spools up. Its gains speed relly quick above 60. The car is fast no doubt about it.

Another thing that I disliked in a BIG way was the shifter. It was too hard to find the right gear. It was too tight. I missed the 1-2 shift a few times and a few times shited 2-5 instead of 2-3. I guess it just needs some getting used to. There was also a hell of a lot vibration comming through the shifter. So much that it made me take my hand off the shifter in between shifts...

Another thing that dissapointed me was its utter lack of grip. I was taking turns slower than in my car and yet the back was stepping out, the great thing was that because of the awd it was easy to keep control, but i would have like at least a little more grip.

I was pondering selling my car to get one, but now im completley over it. Looks like Ill be waiting another year for the Lancer Evo VII...

Not noticing the speed just comes from the faster car. When I went from the MKIII to the MKIV I could cruise at 90 and not think of it…

I’ve yet to drive the WRX. Perhaps Friday..

that is true... my friends 120hp civic feels like youre giong 100 at like 60 cuz its so low, light and loud...

I have to agree about the shifter even I've only sat in the car, it feels somewhat vague. However the seats are absolutely fabulous. I loved them. But I doubt I'd get one cause its quite simply ugly.

i didnt like it at first but now its kinda growing on me. I like the wagon

The wagons are pretty nice.

don't forget that in another year or so we might be receiving the RSX Type R. Given Mitsu's complete lack of reliability (or so they say), i'd be hesitant to buy an Evo VII

i like the wagon more then the sedan...coz the back of the sedan is ugly too

Even thought the exterior is ugly, the interor is very nice... It was very easy to get a comfortable possition in it...

Yeah, the interior is fabulous, the RSX is better though in terms of layout. But me and my dad agreed that the WRX had the best seats at the auto show.

In C&D's test, they actually think that lack of grip you experienced is a good thing. For example, the Audi RS4, with AWD and everything the car exhibit way too much understeer for it to have fun. But the WRX according to C&D has virtually no understeer and can easily be provoked to have the back step out, which in their opinion, is much more fun.....

hmm well i really dont go for looks when it comes to cars like this i mean well ive heard its performance is AWESOME and its well ****ing fast as hell i mean 0-60 in five point four SHIT thats fast and imagine how fast it will be if you add some mods to it. i agree its VERY ugly on the outside but well you get alot for what you pay for and only 23,000 bucks hell im gonna sell my car just to get it i dont care how good they say my car, a celica, is good or nice, if this car is all that its cracked up to be **** the celica let me at this one its the closest ill get to having a maybe a 10 second japanese car with awd and a turbo engine whithout paying an arm and a leg for a skyline and having it go through a ****ing waiting period and all that I DONT WANNA WAIT :D im very impatient when it comes to kick ass cars
