Biggest car, as in doored passenger car, was a 12 liter (732ci) Studebaker. It was built for 251mph salt lake run.

Biggest plane engine, the pratt and whitney engine off of the B36 Bomber, which had six of them.

A production Bugatti (the Type 41) was a 12.7L eight-cylinder engine. There were, however, a few slightly larger than this years earlier.

There have been internal combustion engines made MUCH larger than this, but not (to my knowledge) used in cars. Class 8 trucks ("tractor-trailers) have (six-cylinder) engines up to 16L.

The GE Dash 9 diesel locomotive (the most common freight locomotive currently used, it's the workhorse of BNSF and I believe CSX as well, as well as one of the main diesel locomotives of Amtrak) uses a 6,250 hp 16-cylinder engine, with each cylinder displacing 15.71 liters. That works out to over 251 liters.:)

****..

I wonder how much torque.

you could stand it the damned cylinder, jesus christ!!! the torque has got to be insane!

I know it redlines at 1,000 rpm, so assuming it produces peak power at that rpm, it'll make 32825 ft-lbs of torque (that's the minimum figure, if it makes peak power at any lower rpm then it'll make more torque than that). Enough to spank an F-body? I think so.:D

Supra could take it, and do so with more class.
