Toyota to use next-generation engines developed with Yamaha Motor
Toyota has revealed that they will start applying next-generation engines, developed with Yamaha Motor. Toyota and Yamaha started engine development just after they agreed on a capital tie-up in March 2000. The first engine will be a 4 liter high rpm (8,000 rpm) engine designed for luxury cars, including the Celsior (Lexus LS430). They used Yamaha's intake system technology in the new engine. Toyota has announced that they will enter F1 races next year and use Yamaha technology for high quality engines to improve their image. Toyota also has entrusted development of tuned cars through their customized subsidiary to Yamaha.

The new 4.3 was in the FXS concept. I don't know the output of that car, but it was said to be 400hp. I wouldn't put faith into that figure though.

This just another evolution of Toyota's excellent 8 cylinder. Toyotas engine was a joint effort with Yamaha (which isn't the first time). Expect a new 6 cylinder sometime soon too... To be used in the next IS.
