got this frum another forum:
"if you're modding your car do it properly and don't go for ultimate looks... my friend just bought a new 2001 gmc yukon denali over the summer, lowered it 7" up front and 9" in the back and put on 22" rims. in all honesty, the truck looked amazing, and i hate trucks. he drove over a little pothole, that you'd expect a stock denali to handle no problem (jeez my accord would have flew over it), but he bottomed out hard and fooked his suspension. he broke two control arms, bent two rims, and ripped off some moulding. by lowering the vehicle (plus some other mods) he voided the warranty (which is a pretty stupid thing to do on any american vehicle, i don't care what it is): the total was like $7000 for parts and labour!!! the thing is his truck is still lowered and he's still flossing 22's; but he drives it like a baby over the slightest bumps. i mean really what's the point if you've got to come to almost a complete stop to go up a drive way,
lowering a vehicle shoud be done for optimal handling (ie. flat and neutral) not for looks, you posers"
