Does anyone use this detector or have heard anything regarding it? I just bought it for $100 which is $80 less than what you would find it in stores.

Doesn't anyone use a radar/laser detector anymore? :D

Get the Valentine One, sure it's expensive, but definitley worth it. It detects laser, shows which direction they're coming from and how many there are. It's simply the highest quality detector out there.

Every radar test I have ever read shows the Bel 980 ranked higher than the Valentine One. The Bel Express 936 is taking the Bel 880's place and is ranked just below the Bel 980. Hell, I got it for only $100 so I couldn't pass it up.

well mostly I know where the cops sit. and the tickets I've gotten have been from either racing or running a red light. so realy I haven't needed one, and I don't have the money for one at the moment, tickets to pay :)

lol, that highly publicized test gave the nod tom the bell because it was louder and was sleeker, in all the important categories the Valentine trounced its opponents. The guy who did radartest.com has a grudge against Valentine too.

That could be true but $400 is a lot to spend.

Better than a 1,000 dollar ticket and a night in jail.

Well, from what I have read, the new Bel 936 does just fine....it just doesn't have as many customizable features. It has saved my ass already and I guess if it works, I saved myself $300.

Sure it will still save your ass, but then they'll be that time when a cop is using laser and you get smoked.

.....the review I read said it has a high laser sensitivity as well.....I have yet to encounter it though....

One thing that gives me comfort with the V1 is that I know which direction the "bogey" is coming from, so if I do get hit I know which way to run.

True, but is that function alone worth $300 more?

In the long run...for someone with my record...and someone who drives as fast as me...and someone with cars that are costly to insure...and for peace of mind, yes.
