Alrite I'm about to do another oil change on my Lude and rite now I'm using full synth Mobil 1..... I went to my Honda dealer today and got a new oil filter and some fresh drain bolt and washer and then saw that they carried Royal Purple synth oil for like freakin $6 a pop......

First question is if it's alrite to switch from one synth brand to another??

And do any of u guys/girls use Royal Purple cuz I've heard some bad bad stuff about it.......

TIA........

Good stuff eh??

That's all I heard about Mobil 1 full synth before I used it and now I'm hearing same things about Royal Purple.....

Is there even a difference between the two brands?? If so what?

I would like to know cuz I think I'm gonna go and just TRY it out to see if theres any difference.....

To tell you the truth, I doubt unless your car is incredibly high strung that oil brands make little difference unless they are really shitty. Red Line, Royal Purple, Mobile 1, they're all good.

Here's another reply from another board:

"It's not ok. The mixture of oils cause foaming at high speed and can damage the engine. Thats is what I was told so when I switched I did an oil change after 500 miles to clean it up. Its not good to switch brands all the time. "

Damn now I don't know what to do!!!!

there is no issue with switching among brands of oil nowadays.

foaming of oil does not come from mixing, that comes from overfilling.

you most likely wont notice a performance difference between the brands, but i like redline since you can legitimately extend the oil change intervals to a LARGE degree...

but dont worry about switching, that just isnt an issue anymore...

just dont use synthetic in a brand new engine...it wont break-in.....heh
