Do you think that is is worth your money??

My Answer: No Because Fuel economy is only 17mpg/19mpg vs the gasoline engine's 15mpg./19mpg.

Look at the Numbers

GMC 1500 4WD GMC Sierra Hybrid
26 Gallon Gas tank 26 Gallon Gas tank
With Gas at $2.30 A gallon
$59.80 To fill tank $59.80 To fill tank
Avg. 17 MPG Avg. 18 MPG.
442 Mile Crusing range 468 Mile Crusing range
Thats an extra 26 Miles Per fill-up

Costs of gas over 10 years
25K Miles Per year(250K Miles in 10 years)
Overall gas costs over 10 years (if the price stays the same)
$33K For Gasoline $31,944 For Hybrid
So you save a little over $1,000 over 10 years
Is it worth paying an extra 5K-8K initally.
No Thats why the Sierra hybrid is a horrible waste of money.

OMG its a hybrid and it still only gets 18MPG highway. Thats awful! And its probably SLOW as hell 0-60....def. not worth it.

I seriously doubt it gets that horrible of gas mileage

I'm with turbodreamswrx, I don't seem them marketing a Hybrid truck that gets 18 MPG, especially when there are a few full size trucks out there that get close to that already.

Guess it's not a "full hybrid" like that of a prius so technically it's really not a hybrid at all...It only gets 2 mpg more on the highway and 1 mpg more in city driving and costs 2,500 extra...It still uses the v-8 so accleration isn't affected. I guess the only reall difference is the fact that it has a couple extra batteries and a little honda motor four, 120-volt 20-amp AC power outlets in the cargo bed and the rear seat. When you press on the brake and put it in drive the engine will shut off and run off the electic motor until you step on the gas.

hmmm interesting idea but needs more work to be worth it now that i know how it basically operates. A+ for thought F for engineering and production
