I have a 94 6 cyl 5 speed YJ with 89 thousand miles on it. It is dragging in 5 gear will not go more than 40 miles a hour. It seems to be running right in the rest of the gears just drags in 5th. A friend said it might be cadilack converter? I have no idea just do not want to take to shop without having some idea. Thanks if you have any info..

When you are putting it into 5th gear you are not already over 40 MPH??

no, it starts dragging I guess in 4th also.

It is probably just the gearing...most vehicles don't accelerate well in higher gears at low speeds.
