I'm looking for a little help here. This is my first time posting on a forum, so I hope I'm doing this right. I have a 1975 Corvette, and the rear differential is leaking. The leak is right at the front, where the "Yoke" (?) goes into the differential that is connected to the drive shaft. I don't know what part I need to replace to make this stop.

Is it a SEAL? Is it a GASKET?

Also, when I take this apart, does anyone know the right torque spec for the nut that connects the "yoke" to the Differential. I've heard ~150 Ft-Lbs, but haven't confirmed this anywhere.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

It's a seal. do you have a repair manual? I think that would have the torque specs on the rear end ( and pretty much anything else ;) )
