I just replaced my alternator thinking the old one won't work but the new one has the same problem. It will not recharge the battery. The wires all look alright and i have redone some connections on both the alternator and the battery. The belt also looks good. The car will run on a charge until the battery dies. Any help PLEASE

Check the ground wires to make sure they are in place and making good contact, especially the battery cable ground connection... Did you get a new power wire on the back on your alternator, or did you just reuse the one you had? Make sure that it's not in poor condition...
Maybe your battery is the problem?
Have a voltmeter? Measure the voltage at the alt. connector, and at the battery. See a difference?

Best way to check alternator is working:
Start the car
pop the hood
Pull the negitive cable off the battery
If the car instantly shuts off your alternator is bad.
If it keeps running your alternator is fine.
That should help you trace the problem

Is the alternator/battery light on your dash on while the car is running? The light is the signal for the alternator charging. So if that light isn't on, that's why your alternator isn't charging.
I've seen a plug on the dashpanel that wasn't connected quite right that did the same thing, but this will happen too if that dash bulb burns out.
There is a wire that runs out of your alternator (can't remember the color right now), but if you remove your dash panel, check for continuity between the alternator and the dash panel. This wire also has a 2-pin connector near the battery. Check to make sure this isn't disconnected.
