not too long ago my radiator blew a leak, and I tried my best to make it home. While I was on my driveway it went into the red and started seriously bogging down. Then it came out of the red and started squealing whenever I accelerated, but would stop if I let up off the gas or depressed the clutch. I just replaced the radiator today, and while driving it around to see if everything was good, it started squealing again. I made it to my place and popped the hood, there was a smell of burning rubber and smoke coming from underneith the drivers side valve cover. What's up?

smoke? hopefully your head gaskets or something arent cracked as well and you got coolant entering your cylinders, only thing i can think of.... is it LT1 (reverse flow ???)

as for the squeeling i have no idea, where's it coming from?

naw, it's a 3800 series II engine.

I realized it's not so much a squeal as it is a metalic click. It does it rapidly when try to accelerate, and it almost sounds like a squeal. It's coming from somewhere in the engine bay, and from the sound of it, the drivers side.

Could be a lot of things.....see if you can pin point an exact part or location making the sounds.

If it is under the valve cover, it could be a loose rocker arm or valvetrain component.

So Dose anyone know if I can supercharge my 3800 series II engine in my camaro. Im sure it can be done but finding a supercharger for a V6 is kinda hard.

I had a spun #8 on my 350 that sounded like a loud squeal from the back of the compartment

and you can use the supercharger from the transverse engine if you get the belts and water pump, the back of the transverse engine is where its different from the longitudinal one
