2007 Volvo S80 revealed by spy photographers? (Update #2)

Spy photographers in South Africa captured the first image of a completely undisguised 2007 Volvo S80. The image is not especially clear, so determining its authenticity is difficult. However, it was reportedly captured by a photographer working for the reputable Hans G. Lehmann � meaning it’s probably the real deal. (It’s possible some digital enhancement has been applied to the image, although it’s difficult to tell). In mid-October, we published the first clear � albeit partly disguised � spy pictures of a black 2007 Volvo S80. Previously, the only images of the car were of a prototype with heavy disguise. In addition to an assortment of five- or six-cylinder engines, the new S80 is expected to be offered with Volvo’s new V8 powerplant developed for the XC90 SUV. Earlier this year, clear spy photos of an undisguised Volvo C70 preceded the release of official photos from Volvo by only a few weeks. Sources suggest Volvo may reveal the new S80 at the Detroit auto show in January.

It has been officialy revealed.... some info and pics:

Preliminary intelligence indicates that the S80 will hold down Volvo's top rung with a three-engine range, a standard 3.2L six-cylinder with around 240 hp, an optional (and much needed) eight-cylinder displacing about 4.4L and sporting circa 315 hp, and an available five-cylinder diesel with around 180 hp-- the latter of which doesn't appear to be slated for U.S. consumption.

not sure what to say. The dash looks too flimsy and not very rough... Quality look, errr no. As far as the exterior it looks very sleek for being so big. All and all a very bland looking thingomabob.

it's a volvo.. v8 eh.. that could rock very much.

Definatly looks better in 3d rather than on a picture... This is scandinavian design... what can I say? It's nice, but not spectacular.

front and rear overhangs look excessive. Interior design is very uncluttered and clean. The floating HVAC/Radio control design was carried over very well, looking luxurious, without being too modern.

Long overdue, for certain...just wish they could've pushed the wheels closer to the corners.
