Hey guys, I wanted to get some opinions on something.
I've been looking for about 3 months for the vehicle I want to replace my '01 S10. The other day I found the exact truck that I want to purchase, but it was not on my dealer's lot so I asked them set up a dealer transfer, which they said was no problem and they do all the time, just pull the truck onto a flatbed and deliver it within a few days.
Yesterday I called my salesman twice to see when the truck would be in because it was scheduled to arrive yesterday. He tells me that it will be in later that night. So he called me when it showed up and I rushed down to the lot.
Once I get there, everything seems great until I see the truck. The license plate ad for the dealer isn't from Richland Chevrolet which is where the truck that I wanted was, it's from Folsom Chevrolet, but I think "If it's got all the same stuff and is the same price, no big deal". The truck ends up being $125 more because it has upgraded tires, which they do not offer to trade out or write off the final price...OK again, no big deal it's only $125.
When I get into the truck and check the odometer I notice that there is 298 miles on it! I come to find out that, without asking me, they decide to go to another dealership that is 300 miles away and get me something that is pretty darn near what I want but not exactly, and instead of putting the truck on a flatbed and driving it down, they send one of their lot hands up to pick it up and drive it down for me.
Needless to say I told them that I needed more time and that I wouldn't be signing papers last night.
Am I being too nit-picky about this, or should I be upset over the fact that they've put 300 miles on the truck without even giving me the option to pay an extra fee to have it shipped. I'm also upset over the fact that the salesman neglected to tell me that they couldn't get the one that I want and let me discover that for myself when I got there to pick it up.
Sorry for the long post. Let me know what you guys think I should do...
