pleasen someone help. i bought this 87 dodge ram 50 made by mitsubishi. it was runnin fine then when i would stop it turn it on and try and restart it nothing happened. i could put gas in the carb and keep tryin to get it to turnover and it eventually would. i took it in to a mechanic and they replaced the carb and fuel filter"which was filthy". everything seemed fine then it did it again. would it be crap clogging the fuel line/ once its going for awhile it never dies. i took it on a 400 mile journey and as long as i didnt stop it it ran like a champ. once it was stopped it got no gas. anyone know. david

Sounds to me like the carburetor needs to be adjusted

I wouldn't think that contaimenation in the fuel line would be the problem. If it was the problem it would start from the gas in the bowl then die when it ran out & couldn't get anymore. For some reason the fuel bowl is not keeping fuel in it. It is either leaking out or boiling into the intake. I would think if it was boiling into the intake it would be flooded though. I would take it back to your mech & have him see if the floats are out of adjustment.
