Well, for the past couple months I've had this light knock occuring.... and it's not engine related.

At first, I thought it was the tranny.. but wasn't sure.

Over the past few months it's progressively gotten worse.

Basically, while driving there is a knock that varies directly with the speed. If I'm driving and put it into Neutral, the sound goes way. This makes me think that it's probably drivetrain related (I'm assuming U-joint?)

Has anyone had this occur before? Any idea/opinion on what it could be?

BTW, it's a '99 F-150, 2WD, 4.6L, AOD....

You have probably got a Ujoint that the bearings are dry. The only right way to check Ujoints is to pull the shaft & move them in every direction & see if you have a binding problem.

Yeah, figured it was the U-joint.... gonna drop the DS and swap 'em this weekend probably... or maybe friday morning...
