There are a lot of things you can do, but if you're looking for a real power increase a supercharger, turbo, or nitrous would be the best bang for your buck. All the little bolts ons won't get you that far. What kind of motor is in your lumina?

Ya there isn't a large market for performance parts for that particular vehicle. You could always do a custom setup OR you could go the other route and hook up a nitrous hit.

you could cheaply put on a good exaust and cool air intake

Or you could not waste any money on that car and save some money and buy a hotrod later..

Does anybody else find it quite odd that he's buying performance parts for a LUMINA???

only as odd as chevy pushing it as a performance vehicle in the first place.

I will be the 1st to say Chevy has had its head in their ass before..An SS Cobalt? Not much better IMO..History saves them in my book. There are running out of credit with me....I hear their turning it around over there. Come on Camaro...

Well you could "Do all the basic stuff first: headers, plumbing, fuel, ignition, so the car is as good as it can be,"-Turbonetics' Tanaka. "Then sit down with one of the turbo manufacturers and go through the engine's parameters."

my girlfriend has a 97, they do handle nicely, and have a lot of potential... but that engine cavity is horrific... with the battery under the windshield fluid res., which is under bracing.

yes but let us remember the LTZ model.. that one was pretty rad... and also remember for a long while it replaced, then was a 4 door model of the monte carlo.

god luck with 3.1 pushroad engine, not a lot of upgrades for that motor, if any, best way, is nitros, don't expect it to last long after that, if you puting turbo in(if you can find it, and any room under the hood), you'll need , new intaike manifold, less restrictive exsoust, reprogram ecm, upgrade ignition, beef up motor, and trainy mounts, trainy itself needs to be stronger, tourge converter needs to be stronger, breaks, suspention, cooling, oil, and 100s other little things, is it worth it? price of all this will buy you a much better car.
