I have an LT1 with a 160 degree stat. Any way to reprogram the fans without a power programmer? thanks

Not that I know of. Are you wanting to make them come on sooner or later?

Ditto, I'm pretty sure you need a hypertech programmer to do it. You can't even use LS1 edit as you don't have an LS1.

Obviously i would prefer them coming on sooner than 230 degrees. 210 would be an improvement...

OK this is what you can do, although you would be cutting stock wires. Cut the positive and negative terminals that lead to the PCM, and tape them off. I don't think it should cause a SES light.

Then buy yourself an adjustable thermostat and install it inline on the positive and negative wires and place the probe in the radiator. Then you can let the motor heat up, set the points you want it to turn on at by watching your temp meter, and you're done. No hypertech involved, cost is probably less than $70.

Meanwhile what kind of harm is done by not having the temp consistant?
