I have a huge problem. I have a 95 Eldorado that accelerates by itself. It just started doing it. I do not have to hit the gas pedal, and the the Rpm's seem to never go below 2000. When I come to a complete stop the Rpm' still remain at 2000, and when I lift my foot off the brake the whole car jumps forward. I don't have much knowledge about cars, all I know is that I have had almost everything major replaced on this car- I can't figure out what else can be broke. Please help.

Check the Idle air control motor (IAC) this may be sticking and causing it to ramp up like this. Quick way to check it locate it it should be a four wire flat plug on the throttle body near the throttle position sensor. The (IAC) will actually look like a small motor it has a winding inside. Unplug that it will trigger a check engine light but this should allow the throttle to close. Keep us posted on what you find.

That would scare the hell outta me. My car has a mind of its own when I turn on cruise control and I had the cruise control replaced on my car once (factory recall) but it doesn't really scare me because it will only go up to 5 mph over what I set it. (on a flat street...no whooptie woos LOL) Nowadays it just makes me laugh.

Has the throttle body been cleaned? Has the ISC motor been looked at?
