Can anyone tell me where to find the sensor that controls the temperature light? I have a 1988 Grand Prix LE, and the temperature light stays on all the time, even when the car is first started and I know the engine is cold. At times the light will flicker on and off. Sometimes it will go off for a while, then come back on. The temperatur guage is working fine, it's just the "idiot light" that's giving me trouble.

I have checked one sensor located in the radiator, but it appears to control the coolant light. The only other sensor I can find is towards the back of the engine, and it controls the temperature guage. I can't find the sensor that turns the temperature light on/off.

Thanks.

Usually there is one on the engine block or thermostat housing

The sensor looks to be right by the head beside the thermostat housing. Hope that helps.
